Job description
Position Purpose
Cashiers are essential frontline employees responsible for delivering fast, friendly, and precise service to customers. They handle checkout and return transactions efficiently while overseeing and maintaining the Self-Checkout area. By gaining knowledge about products and projects, they inform customers and recognize sales opportunities. Strict adherence to company policies and procedures is required to minimize shrinkage.
Role of Head Cashier
The Head Cashier supports Cashiers by managing their positioning and expediting price checks and approvals for point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various registers including mainline, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. This role also involves providing initial escalation for customer concerns and assisting with supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates. They take part in onboarding new Cashiers and use all resources to develop their skills.
Qualifications
Experience of at least one year as a Cashier is preferred for candidates seeking the Head Cashier position.
