Job description
Role Overview
The cashier position is essential in delivering quick, friendly, accurate, and secure service at checkout. Cashiers handle processing of purchases and returns and oversee the Self-Checkout area to ensure a smooth customer experience.
Key Duties
- Conduct checkout and return transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain oversight and support of the Self-Checkout zone.
- Actively gain knowledge about products and projects to inform customers and identify sales opportunities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to help reduce shrinkage.
Leadership Role (Head Cashier)
The Head Cashier provides support by directing cashier positioning, expediting price checks, authorizing Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various registers including Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. This role also handles first-level customer issue escalations and assists in supervising, coaching, and training front-end staff using all available resources. Experience of at least one year as a cashier is preferred for this leadership position.
