Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier offers an excellent opportunity to build skills in the retail sector. The Cashier role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service throughout the checkout experience to foster customer loyalty. Additionally, Cashiers act as vigilant protectors of company assets, maintaining a close watch to prevent losses.

Key Duties

• Warmly greet each customer with politeness and friendliness.
• Efficiently handle all purchasing transactions, including deactivating merchandise according to the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Encourage customers to engage with company-sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives.
• Assist shoppers with bagging and loading their purchases.
• Adhere to safety procedures, including safe lifting techniques and maintaining a tidy workspace.
• Protect the security and integrity of the cash register through careful cash management, compliance with company protocols, and situational awareness.
• Redirect customers to a Customer Service Manager for further assistance or specialized services when needed.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.40.
