Job description
Position Overview
The Cashier plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service by ensuring fast, friendly, precise, and secure handling of transactions. Responsibilities include processing both purchases and returns and managing the Self-Checkout zone effectively.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and courteous service during checkout and return processes.
- Oversee and maintain orderliness in the Self-Checkout area.
- Actively gain knowledge about products and projects to assist customers with information and identify potential sales opportunities.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures to reduce losses and prevent shrinkage.
- In a Head Cashier capacity, assign Cashiers to stations and assist them by expediting price verifications and authorizing point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various service points including main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Serve as the first contact for escalation of customer concerns.
- Support the oversight, coaching, and training of Front End Associates by engaging in onboarding new Cashiers and utilizing available resources for their development.
Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of experience working as a Cashier is recommended, especially for Head Cashier roles.
