Job Summary

Cashiers serve as vital members of the customer service team by delivering quick, friendly, accurate, and safe transaction services. Their primary duties include processing customer checkouts and returns, as well as overseeing the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operations. Cashiers are encouraged to gain product and project knowledge to share information with customers and identify sales opportunities. Adhering to established policies and procedures is essential to minimize inventory shrinkage.

Additionally, the Head Cashier role involves coordinating Cashier positions during shifts, assisting with price verifications, approving point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various service areas including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. The Head Cashier also handles first-level customer escalations and supports the supervision, mentoring, and training of Front End Associates by facilitating new Cashier onboarding and leveraging training tools to develop team members. This role typically requires a minimum of one year of Cashier experience.
