Job description
Role Overview
Cashiers are essential to delivering excellent customer service by handling checkout and return transactions swiftly, accurately, and safely. They also oversee and manage the Self-Checkout zones, ensuring smooth operation. Beyond transactional duties, Cashiers actively enhance their product and project knowledge to provide customers with relevant information and identify potential sales opportunities. Adherence to company policies and procedures is vital to minimize shrinkage.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently process checkout and return transactions.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area for seamless customer experience.
- Expand product and project knowledge to assist customers and recognize selling chances.
- Comply with all policies to reduce shrink.
Head Cashier Specific Duties
- Organize and position Cashiers effectively during shifts.
- Facilitate price checks and approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various departments including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for customer concerns.
- Support supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates and new Cashiers using all available development tools.
Preferred Qualification
Candidates with at least one year of experience working as a Cashier are preferred for the Head Cashier role.
