Position Overview

Serving as a Cashier at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to build competencies in retail and customer service. The role focuses on delivering outstanding customer interactions during checkout to foster loyalty. Cashiers play an important role in loss prevention by maintaining close attention to detail to help protect the company's assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome every customer with politeness and friendliness.
• Carry out transactions smoothly and promptly, including handling electronic article surveillance (EAS) deactivation of items.
• Encourage participation in company-sponsored initiatives such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable programs.
• Support customers with packing and loading their purchases.
• Adhere to safety protocols including proper lifting methods and maintaining a tidy workspace.
• Ensure register security and integrity through meticulous cash management, compliance with company policies, and alert awareness of the environment.
• Direct customers to the Customer Service Manager for specific services or complex transactions as appropriate.

Compensation

The starting wage for this role is $18.10 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
