Position Overview

Cashiers at The Home Depot are essential in delivering quick, friendly, precise, and safe customer service. Their duties include handling Checkout and Return transactions efficiently and overseeing the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases and returns accurately and promptly.
• Maintain oversight of the Self-Checkout stations.
• Proactively acquire knowledge about products and projects to offer valuable information and identify sales opportunities.
• Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures to reduce shrinkage.
• For Head Cashiers, position and support other Cashiers, expedite price verification, and authorize transactions and markdowns at main registers and specialized service areas such as Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Provide initial escalation handling for customer problems.
• Assist in supervising, coaching, and training front-end associates, including new Cashiers, using all available coaching tools to foster skill development.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience of at least one year working as a Cashier is preferred for the Head Cashier role.
