Job Overview
The Cashier plays an essential role in delivering prompt, courteous, precise, and safe customer service. Responsibilities include handling checkout and return transactions and overseeing the Self-Checkout area. The role requires actively acquiring product and project knowledge to offer helpful information to customers and identify opportunities to boost sales. Adherence to company policies and procedures is critical to minimize shrinkage.
Additional Role Information
A Head Cashier supervises the cashier team by organizing cashier positions, facilitating price checks, and authorizing Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout lanes, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental sections. They serve as the initial point of escalation for customer concerns and support the development of Front End Associates through coaching and training new Cashiers. A preferred qualification for Head Cashiers is having over one year of cashier experience.
