Case Worker - Homestay

Role Overview

The Australian Red Cross is part of the largest humanitarian movement worldwide, committed to supporting and empowering vulnerable people and communities. As a Case Worker in the HomeStay program based in Townsville, Queensland, you will assist individuals and families in preventing homelessness and maintaining their independence by helping them sustain their current tenancies. Your role involves providing personalised support to clients to meet specified goals, collaborating with external agencies to find appropriate resources, contributing to co-design initiatives, and innovating ways to enhance client outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, specialist casework support and case management to clients.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of complex client needs from a holistic perspective.
• Identify service gaps and manage challenging cases amid competing priorities.
• Engage with diverse cultural backgrounds with competence and sensitivity.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with various stakeholders and external organizations.

Requirements

• Prior experience in specialist casework support and case management.
• Strong ability to evaluate multifaceted client needs holistically.
• Demonstrated skill in identifying service voids and managing complex situations prioritizing effectively.
• Proven cultural competence to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Capacity to maintain effective collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mandatory possession of a current Working With Children’s Check.
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence is essential.

• Full-time ongoing position located in Townsville, Queensland.
• The role falls under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award – Level 4.
• Base salary starting from $92,286.48 annually plus salary packaging and superannuation.
