CarPlay Quality Engineer (Manual Tester)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Quality Engineer specializing in manual testing for automotive infotainment systems, with a focus on CarPlay functionality. The role involves interacting with internal and external stakeholders to stay updated on cutting-edge automotive technology trends, establishing error reporting processes to enhance future infotainment products, and testing across web, iOS, Android, and vehicle infotainment platforms.

Core Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to recognize emerging automotive industry technologies.
• Maintain and manage an error reporting database to track quality outcomes and support product improvement.
• Design, perform, and analyze tests on web applications, mobile phone apps, and vehicle infotainment systems.
• Validate test setup functionality and oversee infotainment test bench operations.
• Assist in test planning by defining test locations, scope, and cases based on specifications, user guides, use cases, comparative products, and known issues.
• Handle vehicle-related duties including part installation and basic maintenance.
• Conduct functional testing such as navigation routing, Bluetooth communication, USB media compatibility, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay features, and voice control of infotainment functionalities.
• Create and update test specifications ensuring traceability of test cases to requirements.
• Review data playback files and contribute to creating bug reports for identified failures or scenarios.

Candidate Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Telecommunication, Electrical, or Computer Science fields.
• At least 12 months experience in automotive electronics, working in areas like Speech Dialogue Systems, Navigation, GPS, telephone connection, Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Radio, and Multimedia systems.
• Proficiency in comprehending and executing test cases using relevant testing tools.
• Familiarity with platform automation tools such as Appium and UIAutomator for iOS and Android is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English both spoken and written, plus Mandarin language skills.
• Professional experience gained through internships or similar study-related environments is included.
