Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position based in Singapore calls for a Carpenter responsible for daily tasks such as measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other construction materials to build structural frameworks, fixtures, and fittings. The duties include interpreting technical drawings, installing doors, windows, cabinets, and other components, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards. The role requires use of hand and power tools, maintaining a clean, safe workplace, coordinating with other trades onsite, and following project schedules and supervisor directives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Competence in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, technical plans, and measurements accurately.
- Experienced in carpentry methods including framing, door and window installations, cabinetry fitting, and finishing work.
- Proficient in the safe handling and upkeep of carpentry hand tools and power tools.
- Strong safety awareness with consistent adherence to workplace safety procedures and local building codes.
- Physical fitness with the ability to lift, bend, and stand for prolonged periods or work at heights.
- Good communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other trades.
- Prior experience in carpentry or related construction roles; formal trade certifications or vocational training are beneficial.
- Dependable, attentive to detail, and capable of working with minimal supervision while adhering to deadlines.
