Cargo Supervisor

Job Summary

The Cargo Supervisor will serve as the primary operational contact and is responsible for overseeing cargo warehouse activities and the freighter ramp at designated station(s). This role involves planning and supervising key operations, routes, and product handling with an emphasis on meeting performance targets such as on-time performance (OTP), electronic air waybills (eAWB), Cargo iQ standards, service level agreements (SLAs), and other key frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain freighter flight on-time performance by managing ramp coordination and supervising freighter operations in a dynamic environment.
• Support planning and execution of complex cargo loads for passenger and freighter flights, while providing hands-on training and guidance to ground handling agents to elevate skill sets and confidence.
• Conduct systematic safety and security inspections to ensure cargo operations comply with safety management system (SMS) guidelines, regulatory mandates, and internal procedures.
• Establish and implement best practices to achieve revenue budgets, facilitate superior service delivery, optimize cost efficiency, and maintain adherence to safety and security protocols.
• Demonstrate operational flexibility by adapting to varying shift requirements and performing diverse roles below the supervisory level to promote continuous competency development.
• Carry out miscellaneous tasks at other stations as needed to support organizational goals and initiatives.
• Manage special services and VIP shipment processes from acceptance through to delivery, ensuring meticulous oversight.
• Handle financial tasks including raising purchase requests (PR), purchase orders (PO), and goods receipt notes (GRN) in SAP, and validate supplier invoices for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Identify and escalate medium to high-level risks to appropriate managerial authorities promptly.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience in cargo operations or a comparable role, paired with a high school diploma.
• Familiarity with cargo handling protocols, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Sound understanding of computer-based airfreight systems and specifications.
• Additional training in dangerous goods, cargo operations, security, quality assurance, or auditing is advantageous.
