Location
This role is based at Discovery Parks Karratha in Western Australia, a stunning location blending natural beauty with comfort and practical amenities.
Role Overview
The Caretaker will be responsible for maintaining the park's operations and facilities while providing excellent customer service. Duties include general groundskeeping, facility maintenance, front office administrative support when needed, and responding to after-hours issues. The position demands ensuring compliance with safety, statutory, and brand standards while assisting with daily operations like opening and closing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service to park guests.
- Assist with front office administrative tasks as required.
- Respond to after-hours call-outs to address park needs.
- Carry out groundskeeping duties including mowing lawns, maintaining gardens and trees.
- Perform maintenance on all park assets and facilities to ensure optimal condition.
- Maintain adherence to safety and regulatory compliance regulations as well as brand standards.
- Conduct daily operational tasks such as opening and closing of park facilities.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in grounds and maintenance work is essential.
- Trade qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) protocols and responsibilities.
- Possession of a current driver’s license.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Competent computer skills.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties and work a seven-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
Additional Role Requirements
The role involves physical tasks including heavy lifting (up to 20kg), kneeling, squatting, and working with chemicals and machinery. Candidates must consent to a Federal Police Clearance and hold a valid Working with Children Check applicable in the state prior to employment.
