Career Counsellor

Role Overview

The Career Counsellor will provide critical guidance to students in selecting academic and career paths that align with their unique strengths, interests, and goals. This role involves frequent local travel to schools for delivering counselling sessions, conducting workshops, and collaborating with various stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, and school administrators.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group career counselling sessions for students in grades 8 through 12 on school premises.
• Assist students in making informed decisions about streams, subjects, and options after school completion.
• Support students in increasing self-awareness related to their aptitudes, interests, skills, and learning styles.
• Guide students in setting achievable academic and career objectives.
• Administer career assessments and analyze results to aid decision-making.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive counselling reports and notes for students and parents.
• Maintain confidential and accurate documentation of counselling sessions and student data.
• Host parent sessions and orientation programs both face-to-face and virtually.
• Collaborate closely with school coordinators, teachers, and leadership during visits.
• Facilitate career education activities such as workshops, classroom talks, assemblies, career fairs, and industry interactions.
• Keep current on educational options, skill-based careers, and emerging professional fields.
• Travel locally to assigned schools punctually and professionally as per schedule.
• Adhere to ethical standards and a student-centric counselling approach.
• Participate in internal trainings, reporting, and continuous program improvements.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Education: Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a similar discipline is preferred.
• Certification or formal training in Career Guidance or Counselling is desirable.
• Experience: Between 0 to 5 years in career counselling, education, or related student guidance roles; fresh graduates with relevant training and strong communication skills may apply.
• Skills: Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication abilities; willing and able to work in multiple school settings; empathetic, patient, and professional demeanor; basic digital proficiency for documentation and online interactions.

Additional Information

Local travel costs will be reimbursed based on company policies. Having personal transportation is advantageous depending on the location of assigned schools.
