About GL Motors and Role Overview

GL Motors, based in East Tambaram, Selaiyur, Chennai, is seeking a Car Mechanic to handle maintenance, servicing, diagnostic, and repair tasks across various passenger car brands. This position demands working knowledge on key vehicle systems like engines, clutches, gearboxes, suspensions, steering, braking, air conditioning, and basic electrical components. Both fresh candidates and those with relevant hands-on expertise in vehicle repair are encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and general servicing on multiple passenger car brands.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical parts including engine, clutch, gearbox, suspension, steering, and braking systems.
• Inspect, diagnose, and service car air conditioning units.
• Identify electrical faults and conduct basic electrical system repairs.
• Operate diagnostic scanner tools to pinpoint vehicle issues efficiently.
• Execute oil changes, replace filters, provide brake servicing, and manage routine upkeep tasks.
• Assess vehicles to detect additional needed repairs beyond agreed tasks.
• Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and perform final quality reviews on serviced vehicles.
• Dismantle, repair, and correctly assemble vehicle components as necessary.
• Complete repair assignments promptly, ensuring quality workmanship standards.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors or Floor In-charges to address vehicle issues and status updates.
• Adhere strictly to workshop safety protocols and keep the work environment clean.
• Manage and safeguard tools and equipment used during repair processes.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Male candidates aged between 18 and 60 years.
• Educational qualification: 10th standard or below.
• Freshers are welcome, with preference given to those with practical experience in car maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of servicing multibrand passenger cars is advantageous.
• Capability to diagnose and resolve engine, mechanical, air conditioning, and basic electrical problems efficiently.
• No requirement for English language proficiency.
• Work schedule includes full-time day shifts.

Compensation and Benefits

• Monthly fixed salary ranging from ₹23,000 to ₹30,000 based on skills and experience.
• Annual bonus as part of compensation.
