Capacity Management Specialist

About the Role

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global technology leader, invites experienced professionals to join as Capacity Management Specialists. This position is based in Chennai, focusing on managing server capacity and performance to support growing infrastructure demands.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand and manage capacity infrastructure for Midrange servers including Linux, Unix, and Wintel platforms.
• Lead projects or initiatives pertaining to server capacity planning and optimization.
• Monitor and respond to capacity violations and incidents, tracking metrics like CPU, memory, disk usage, and network performance using various Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools.
• Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards and queries for capacity monitoring and forecasting.
• Implement server capacity forecasting models to optimize resource utilization.
• Utilize tools such as Dynatrace and TSCO for effective capacity management, performance testing, and load balancing.

Preferred Skills and Additional Knowledge

• Familiarity with Data Center and Container infrastructure environments.
• Experience in demand forecasting and analyzing UCL tests.
• Proficiency in Python to automate capacity management tasks.
• Exposure to problem management processes using Remedy tool.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of full-time formal education.
• Academic achievement with at least 50% in 10th, 12th, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels where applicable.
