Role Summary
Working alongside the Store Front Supervisor (SAM), the Senior Cashier plays a key leadership role in inspiring front-of-store associates to consistently apply the "Passez à l’ACTion" model behaviors (greeting customers, building rapport, and concluding with thanks) to deliver outstanding shopping experiences.
This role involves training and mentoring front-of-store and parking lot associates to enhance their skills, ensuring appropriate staffing levels by creating schedules aligned with business requirements, and serving as the primary contact for customer issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Model and encourage positive attitudes and behaviors consistent with the "Passez à l’ACTion" customer service standard.
- Ensure sufficient checkout lanes are open to keep customer wait lines to no more than two people during transactions.
- Daily inspect the front-of-store area from a customer perspective to maintain readiness for operation akin to a grand opening.
- Oversee the execution of promotions following the store manual and circulaire preparation.
- Supervise associates and activities to maintain adequate staffing levels that meet the business needs.
- Provide associates with training, resources, coaching, guidance, motivation, and recognition to help them meet expectations and grow in their store responsibilities.
- Communicate store leadership’s goals, priorities, and direction clearly to team members.
- Maintain a clean and shopper-friendly parking area.
- Mobilize relief cashiers as needed and assign them checkout stations.
- Operate checkout systems proficiently and train associates on their use.
- Accompany security personnel during cash collections.
- Adhere to all safety and loss prevention policies and procedures, ensuring associates do the same.
- Follow front-of-store processes to minimize losses and protect company assets.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

- Frequent open doors may cause drafts and temperature fluctuations inside the store.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two years of retail or cashier experience preferred.
- At least one year of experience managing personnel.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is from $20.40 to $22.15 per hour.
