About the Role
This unique position offers an opportunity to lead the front-of-house experience at the brand-new café at Waitangi Treaty Grounds in the scenic Bay of Islands. You will play a key part in launching this hospitality venture by assembling and nurturing the café team, emphasizing excellence in service and coffee quality, and delivering the spirit of manaakitanga from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily front-of-house café operations ensuring smooth service delivery
- Recruit, train, and provide ongoing support to café staff
- Uphold exceptional customer service standards and barista skills
- Manage stock inventory, POS systems, and cash handling procedures
- Support compliance with licensed alcohol service rules and duty manager duties
- Collaborate closely with the Hospitality Manager and Head Chef on café service, events, and functions
