Cable Repairer

About the Role

Ampcontrol invites applications for a hands-on Cable Repairer to join their Cable Services team at the Kewdale workshop. This full-time role involves supporting clientele within the mining and infrastructure sectors by performing cable testing, repairs, terminations, and workshop assistance.

This role is ideal for individuals who take satisfaction in detailed practical tasks within a workshop setting and are keen to grow expertise in this specialized area. Entry-level candidates displaying a positive attitude, dependability, and a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply as comprehensive training and support will be provided.

Working Conditions

The position offers a four-day workweek, Monday through Thursday, promoting work-life balance. Optional overtime may occasionally be available but is not compulsory.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct testing, repair, and termination for reeling, trailing, and flexible cables
• Inspect and install plugs and couplers on various cable types
• Ensure repaired cables meet applicable standards, regulations, and legal requirements
• Assist with general trades duties as necessary in the workshop environment
• Occasional travel to other company or client locations as required

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated commitment to safety and delivering quality workmanship
• Experience in industrial, mining, manufacturing, or workshop settings is advantageous, but not mandatory
• Proficient hand tool skills and great attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow detailed instructions
• Willingness to learn cable repair procedures while operating in a busy workshop atmosphere
• Possession of a heavy vehicle MR license and forklift certification considered highly favorable
• Dogging/basic rigging certifications are a plus but not required
