About the Role

Woodrose Woodworking Inc is seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join their team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This role involves working in a custom cabinet and millwork shop environment, requiring excellence in woodworking and attention to detail to create high-quality cabinetry and millwork products.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various woodworking machinery including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers to cut and form parts.
• Shape wood surfaces or edges using manual tools such as planes, chisels, and files.
• Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices.
• Interpret and study detailed plans, specifications, or drawings for the production of items.
• Utilize CADD and other computer software for design and production purposes.
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies accurately to assemble complete units and reinforce joints.
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply finishes like veneer, stains, polish, and laminated plastics.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Must possess a Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years.
• Trade certification as a Joiner (Cabinetmaker) and the Cabinetmaker Red Seal Certificate are required.
• First Aid Certificate is mandatory.
