Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time Cabinet Maker to work on-site in Auckland, responsible for producing and assembling custom cabinets, benchtops, wardrobes, and other joinery products. Daily responsibilities include reading technical drawings, precise measuring and cutting of materials, operating various woodworking machinery and hand tools, and assembling and finishing cabinetry according to specifications. The role involves collaboration with designers and installers to meet rigorous quality and safety standards while maintaining an organized and clean workshop environment. The Cabinet Maker will also assist in meeting production deadlines and contribute ideas for enhancing fabrication processes.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Solid background in carpentry and cabinetry, including demonstrated experience constructing and assembling customized joinery.
  • Proficiency with millwork and woodworking techniques, along with competent operation of machinery, power, and hand tools while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Ability to interpret spatial designs, technical plans, and drawings to accurately transform designs into finished products.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, commitment to precision in measurements, and delivering high-quality, clean finishes.
  • Experience working within workshop or manufacturing settings, with focus on safety practices and tool upkeep.
  • Strong communication capabilities for effective teamwork with designers, installers, and colleagues.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual labor tasks such as lifting materials, standing for prolonged periods, and safe handling of equipment.
  • Possession of relevant trade qualifications or completion of an apprenticeship in cabinetry, carpentry, or joinery is preferred.
