About the Role
The Reject Shop, now integrated with global retail leader Dollarama, is gearing up for major expansion in 2026 with plans to grow its store base toward 700 locations. Central to this growth is our Merchandise team, which plays a crucial role in ensuring customers receive their favorite products at competitive prices. We're seeking a Buyer to become part of our Store Support Centre team to manage confectionary categories by fostering strong supplier partnerships and implementing customer-focused strategies that drive profitable sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a specific product category ensuring all critical milestones are met.
- Manage samples, purchase orders, and promotional activities within designated deadlines.
- Communicate and negotiate with both domestic and international suppliers to obtain pricing, samples, and product details.
- Support catalog planning, marketing submission processes, and artwork coordination.
- Analyze merchandise reports and monitor competitor prices.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including Planning, Marketing, and Store Operations to align strategies.
- Contribute to developing a category plan that promotes quality, value, and an exceptional customer experience.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 1 to 2 years of practical experience in buying, merchandising, or procurement roles.
- Have previous exposure working within FMCG product categories.
- Exhibit excellent organizational ability to juggle several priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrate confidence in negotiating with suppliers and handling purchase orders efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable performing data analysis to aid business decisions.
- Commercially savvy with understanding of pricing models and margin calculations.
- Adaptable and proactive mindset, capable of working effectively under pressure to maintain workflow.
