Thrive Restaurant Group, a family-owned business operating for over five decades, seeks a dedicated individual to join their team at Carlos O’Kelly’s in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Known for its freshly made Mexican cuisine, oven-baked dishes, legendary margaritas, house-made chips, and famous queso and salsa, Carlos O’Kelly’s embraces a culture of generosity and communal celebration.
Position Overview
The role of Busser is vital in creating an exceptional dining experience by providing clean, safe, and inviting spaces for guests. Responsibilities include clearing and resetting tables, maintaining cleanliness of dining areas, and supporting servers.
Key Responsibilities
- Clear tables of all dishware and napkins after guests finish their meals, returning items to the kitchen.
- Sweep and mop floors and chairs around dining tables to ensure cleanliness.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of glassware, silverware, and dishware.
- Sanitize and reset tables promptly after meal service.
- Replenish condiments such as salt, pepper, and others at tables.
- Assist servers by delivering food as needed.
- Keep assigned service stations clean, organized, and well stocked.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A sincere desire to care for others, learn, and grow within the role.
- A positive and proactive attitude.
- Ability to diligently clean table surfaces, legs, booth seating, and pickup debris throughout the restaurant.
- Physical stamina to transport plates, glasses, and baskets approximately 30 times per shift between dining room, service bar, and kitchen.
- Mobility and activity throughout the entire work shift.
Physical Demands
The position involves navigating the restaurant, engaging with guests, moving and grasping items up to 5 pounds regularly, occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds, and frequent bending and stooping. Adequate vision is necessary to assess cleanliness and operate touchscreen devices. Reasonable accommodations are provided for disabilities.
