Role Summary
The Business Development Specialist in Life Sciences and Pharma will be based full-time on-site in Doha, Qatar. This role focuses on discovering and evaluating new business opportunities within pharmaceutical, healthcare, and MedTech markets, aiming to expand across EMEA and other targeted regions. Daily tasks encompass conducting thorough market analyses, identifying potential clients and collaborators, managing outreach and follow-up activities, and assisting in the creation of bespoke commercial proposals and presentations.
The specialist is expected to maintain robust client and distributor relationships, organize meetings and calls, and work synergistically with internal teams to align business development with market access strategies. The position also includes monitoring sales pipelines, reporting ongoing progress, and sharing insights that influence strategic planning and growth initiatives.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Strong analytical and market research skills to assess opportunities, understand the competitive environment, and underpin data-focused decisions.
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities critical for stakeholder engagement, client management, and preparing articulate presentations and reports.
- Competence in lead generation to identify promising prospects, develop pipelines, and facilitate partner engagement and commercial expansion.
- Relevant business development, sales, or commercial experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or MedTech sectors is highly desirable.
- A bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, healthcare management, or related fields is required; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Fluent English communication is mandatory; knowledge of additional regional languages such as Arabic or French is an advantage.
- Strong organizational, detail-oriented skills, and the capacity to operate both independently and collaboratively within an international, fast-paced context.
