Role Overview

The Business Development Specialist position is full-time and based on-site in Montreal, Quebec. This role centers on outbound sales efforts, with the primary focus on prospecting, qualifying, and scheduling product demos specifically targeting MSP leadership across the US and Canada. The position demands a proactive, metrics-driven hunter mindset with an emphasis on high-impact sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and engage prospective clients within the MSP industry through outbound channels such as email, phone calls, LinkedIn, and events.
• Consistently build and retain a robust pipeline of qualified sales opportunities to support the sales team.
• Conduct research on target accounts to tailor communications with decision-makers effectively.
• Qualify incoming leads and convert them into actionable sales prospects.
• Keep CRM records accurate with up-to-date prospects and pipeline details.
• Collaborate closely with leadership to craft and refine outbound sales strategies.
• Analyze market trends to pinpoint new business avenues.
• Represent Mizo at trade shows, conferences, and networking gatherings.
• Assist marketing efforts by executing targeted outreach and timely follow-ups.
• Help optimize sales messaging, outreach cadences, and playbooks for higher efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in outbound sales, Business Development Representative (BDR), or Sales Development Representative (SDR) roles, preferably in SaaS or technology sectors.
• Proven record of achieving or surpassing pipeline generation and demo booking goals.
• Familiarity with the MSP domain, including knowledge of Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools and the significance of ticket volume.
• Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated individual who takes initiative without waiting for direction.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment where processes are evolving.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience selling services or solutions to MSPs or IT service providers.
• Experience working with CRM systems such as Pipedrive.
• Exposure to automation tools and AI-based SaaS products.
• Existing connections within the MSP community (e.g., ConnectWise, IT Nation, HTG).
