Job description
About NORNORM and the Role
NORNORM is a rapidly expanding circular economy startup transforming the workspace sector through a subscription-based model that benefits people, companies, and the environment. We are launching operations in Munich and seek motivated Business Development Representatives to help us build the business from the ground up in this dynamic German market.
This role offers an immersive experience to develop essential commercial skills including initiating meaningful conversations, overcoming objections, fostering partnerships with landlords, brokers, and workplace consultants, and establishing long-term client relationships. Beyond digital outreach, you'll also engage in face-to-face meetings, site visits, and event representation to enhance NORNORM’s regional presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage potential clients including landlords, flex operators, workplace consultants, brokers, and occupiers through targeted research.
- Qualify both inbound and outbound leads accurately based on company fit, timing, and commercial viability.
- Secure and conduct high-quality discovery meetings independently or alongside sales and partnership colleagues, armed with context and account details.
- Manage the sales pipeline end-to-end from lead generation to scheduled meetings; participate in client meetings when appropriate.
- Meet prospects and partners in person, whether informally over coffee, during site tours, or at industry events.
- Confidently pitch and present NORNORM’s value proposition in one-on-one situations or group settings.
- Maintain meticulous CRM records covering contacts, activities, and pipeline updates.
- Collaborate with partnerships, marketing, and client teams to provide market feedback and insights.
- Represent NORNORM at networking events to convert interactions into qualified commercial opportunities.
Candidate Profile
- A university graduate with some commercial or client-facing experience, preferably in sectors such as outbound sales, recruitment, real estate, flexible office space, or SaaS.
- Background in customer-service, sales, or performance-driven roles, demonstrating the ability to read people and build rapport quickly.
- Aspiring business development professional with strong curiosity and ambition to build a career in commercial roles and partnerships.
- Comfortable initiating contact via phone, email, LinkedIn, in-person meetings, and at industry gatherings.
- Energized by creating momentum, opening doors, and progressing conversations into concrete business opportunities.
- Possess a proactive 'hunter' mentality with a relentless drive to close deals.
Desired Qualities
- Commercially minded and proactive in identifying and advancing opportunities to the next step.
- Fast learner with ambition and curiosity.
- Confident communicator capable of quickly establishing trust with new contacts.
- Consistent and organized follow-up skills.
- Thrives in a goal-oriented, performance-focused environment.
- Experience using CRM platforms like Pipedrive, HubSpot, or Salesforce is advantageous.
- Fluent in German at a native or near-native level and highly proficient in English, both spoken and written; these language skills are mandatory.
Work Location and Commitment
This position is based in Munich and requires regular in-person engagement to build presence in the local workspace ecosystem. While some flexible working arrangements are supported, it is not a fully remote role.
Benefits and Culture
- Significant opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- A culture centered on trust where initiative is recognized and rewarded.
- Occasional collaboration and travel with colleagues across various European offices including Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Stockholm.
- Contribution to a mission-driven company committed to sustainability in the workspace industry.
Application Process
Applications are reviewed systematically and based on submitted materials. We prioritize authenticity over perfection and encourage candidates to express their genuine motivation through a brief cover letter. Please note that we do not provide informal pre-application conversations.
