Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director of Growth Marketing, the Business Development Representative (BDR) role involves engaging inbound and outbound prospects, qualifying leads through insightful discovery, and connecting qualified prospects with Account Executives. Collaborating closely with Marketing and Sales, you will ensure a smooth customer journey from initial contact to sales conversion while nurturing a robust pipeline of opportunities.

This full-time position is hybrid, requiring presence in our downtown Toronto office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Our headquarters are conveniently located near St. Andrew and Union subway stations.

Key Benefits

  • Develop a comprehensive sales foundation by handling both inbound lead qualification and outbound business development, enhancing skills in discovery conversations and relationship management.
  • Exercise ownership and impact by directly influencing pipeline growth through thoughtful qualification and meaningful engagement, while contributing ideas to refine outreach and lead qualification processes.
  • Engage in professional growth within a centralized Revenue Growth team, receiving coaching and exposure to state-of-the-art sales tools and methodologies in a collaborative, product-focused setting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and thoughtfully to inbound leads, understanding client businesses, goals, and purchase readiness; qualify opportunities and refer prospects to appropriate Account Executives.
  • Support outbound prospecting by reaching out to targeted accounts via email, LinkedIn, and phone using structured campaigns and segmented lists to generate qualified meetings.
  • Keep Salesforce and other sales tools current with prospect interactions to maintain an organized, efficient pipeline while managing a high volume of leads.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and fellow BDRs to share feedback on lead quality and messaging, helping to enhance qualification criteria and engagement strategies.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess experience in business development, inside sales, or customer-facing roles that involve prospect engagement, lead qualification, and relationship building through diverse outreach channels; experience in SaaS, AdTech, or MarTech is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication abilities to initiate conversations, ask insightful questions, actively listen, and adapt communication professionally across email, LinkedIn, phone, and virtual meetings.
  • Technical proficiency with CRM and sales engagement tools, able to quickly adopt platforms such as Salesforce, Salesloft, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator to support an efficient sales process.
  • A driven, curious mindset eager for continual learning, open to feedback, collaborative, accountable, and comfortable in a culture emphasizing coaching and continuous improvement.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary ranges from 55000 to 75000 CAD annually, supplemented by bonuses. Pay is aligned with skills, experience, and role complexity, with openness to salary discussions during hiring.

Additional benefits include a flexible work environment, meal credits on office days, complimentary massage sessions every eight weeks, comprehensive insurance coverage (life, AD&D, long-term disability, prescriptions, dental, vision, mental and professional health), access to wellness apps, and a 300 CAD annual healthcare spending account.
