Job description
About Us
We are a leading global producer of enormous off-the-road (OTR) tires designed specifically for the mining sector. Our products equip some of the largest haul trucks and mining machinery found in open-pit mining operations worldwide. With ongoing growth in North America, we seek a proactive, energetic Business Development Manager to join our Canadian team.
Role Overview
As the company representative in Canada, you will cultivate and nurture relationships with mining companies, contractors, OEMs, and tire service providers. This role demands a hunter mentality — ownership of the entire sales process from prospecting to deal completion in a territory abundant with growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement a strategic sales plan for Western Canada targeting OTR and mining tire sales growth.
- Identify and engage key decision-makers within mining operations, contractors, and equipment fleets.
- Manage end-to-end sales activities including leads, site evaluations, need assessments, quotations, negotiations, and contract finalization.
- Collaborate with technical and logistics teams ensuring efficient product delivery and after-sales service.
- Collect and report market intelligence regarding competitors, pricing trends, client demands, and industry developments to headquarters.
- Represent the company at industry-related events, mining sites, and trade fairs throughout the region.
- Maintain and grow a robust sales pipeline with precise forecasting.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- At least five years of experience in the mining sector, either with operators, contractors, OEMs, or relevant suppliers.
- Demonstrable success in generating new business and surpassing sales goals, characterized by a proactive hunter approach.
- Established relationships within the Western Canadian mining community including Calgary, Alberta, and British Columbia.
- Knowledge of OTR/mining tires or heavy mining equipment is advantageous.
- An entrepreneurial mindset marked by persistence, self-direction, and the ability to develop new markets independently.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to mine locations across the area.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Cultural Fit
Ideal candidates are resilient, diligent, and driven to succeed. This is a foundational role holding significant territory-building potential. We prioritize determination and results over process and polish. Individuals who actively pursue leads without hesitation and persist until closure will thrive in this environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary coupled with unlimited commission and performance bonuses.
- Direct access to global leadership enabling swift decision-making.
- Opportunities for long-term growth as North American operations expand.
- Chance to establish and develop a territory and a lasting professional legacy from the outset.
