Job description
About Precursive
Precursive is an AI-driven platform designed to enhance professional services organizations' ability to deliver successful projects with greater speed and profitability. Its comprehensive platform includes features for resource management, project delivery, and services intelligence. The company is expanding rapidly across enterprise and mid-market sectors and actively participates in the Services Delivery Alliance, connecting over 800 member companies and supporting professional services leaders with curated events and content.
Role Overview
This position represents a unique approach to business development. Instead of mass outreach, you will engage prospects initiated by specific signals such as key events, leadership changes, or content interaction. You will manage conversations from the initial contact through to qualifying first meetings for Account Executives (AEs). Your success will be evaluated by qualified meetings and resulting pipeline rather than simple activity volume. The role offers unrestricted commission and straightforward incentive structures paid monthly and quarterly.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively connect with key decision-makers within your assigned territory by phone, email, LinkedIn, and at events, always initiating contact with a clear purpose related to an engagement signal, trigger event, or known challenges of the role.
- Maintain high-touch outbound efforts with a preference for live conversations to foster authentic engagement.
- Develop and nurture a network of services leaders to build a cumulative pipeline over time.
- Collaborate closely with marketing to transition warm leads from workshops, content, and events into meaningful sales conversations.
- Conduct thorough research on new leads and follow up quickly on community interactions to convert interest into commercial opportunities.
- Lead discovery discussions that delve into real business issues beyond budget and timelines.
- Qualify leads effectively for AEs, ensuring detailed contextual information accompanies each handover.
- Work cohesively with the revenue team to align prospects' needs with Precursive's solutions, utilizing available tools and resources.
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce, HubSpot, and Claude, ensuring all activities are documented systematically.
- Communicate account progress internally and contribute to database maintenance and process improvements.
- Effectively balance multiple priorities within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Candidate Requirements
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related discipline.
- Valid authorization to work in the UK.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to write clearly and engage confidently on phone calls.
- Ability to quickly absorb feedback and improve performance.
- A self-motivated, organized individual with strong work ethics.
- High social intelligence and self-awareness, demonstrating listening skills and authentic interactions.
- Comfortable seeking assistance when required.
Desirable Qualifications
- Around one year of experience in SaaS sales or qualifying new leads in a business development role.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and prospecting tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Understanding of sales and marketing cycles.
- Exposure to professional services sectors or complex buying processes.
- Experience with AI technologies.
Personal Characteristics
The ideal candidate is more than just hardworking; they monitor their performance metrics like number of qualified meetings, prepare diligently by researching accounts, find energy in turning cold calls into meaningful problem-solving discussions, and prioritize outcomes that contribute to the sales pipeline over mere activity recording.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary dependent on experience and market standards, discussed during interviews.
- Uncapped commissions with straightforward incentive payouts monthly and quarterly.
- Engagement with a highly invested professional services community and permission to activate it.
- Access to top-tier sales training and close mentorship from senior leaders across marketing, sales, and product teams.
- Individual learning and development budget accessible to all team members regardless of tenure.
- 34 days of annual leave inclusive of UK bank holidays plus an additional day off on your birthday.
- Flexible working arrangements from the Bloomsbury office with regular team all-hands, product launches, and strategy meetings to maintain alignment.
