Job description

About The Role

Moorepay is seeking a Business Development Associate to significantly contribute to expanding new business opportunities. This role entails proactively identifying and engaging senior-level decision makers in target companies, to develop a pipeline of qualified sales leads and nurture prospects until they reach the appointment stage with our field sales team. This is an outbound-focused, consultative sales position where expertise in selling to senior stakeholders and familiarity with Payroll, HR, or SaaS sectors provide a strong advantage.

You'll operate within a cooperative and results-driven sales team with the freedom to manage your own territory and sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate outbound activities to source new business opportunities using data, CRM platforms, and independent research to identify key prospects.
  • Maintain and cultivate a strong pipeline of qualified sales prospects by following up on leads from prospect data and marketing campaigns to build lasting relationships.
  • Engage directly with senior executives such as C-level personnel, HR Directors, and Finance Directors to identify their challenges and align Moorepay's solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure meticulous recording and updating of critical details—including decision makers, current suppliers, contract timelines, and opportunity insights—within the CRM system.
  • Utilize specialized tools, social media channels, industry insights, and market intelligence to pinpoint business catalysts and competitive strengths for Moorepay.
  • Consistently meet and strive to exceed defined activity and performance KPIs through proactive and disciplined outbound efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Development Management group and other departments to ensure smooth transition of qualified leads and deliver excellent experiences to prospects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least two years of outbound sales experience in B2B settings, demonstrating consistent achievement of sales targets and pipeline generation.
  • Proven success in engaging and selling to senior decision makers.
  • Prior experience in Payroll and HR services is highly favorable; alternatively, strong experience in SaaS or B2B service sales is acceptable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact confidently and credibly at senior levels.
  • Highly motivated, resilient, and able to independently manage workload and sales pipeline.
  • Strong commercial insight with knowledge of competitor positioning to effectively present solutions.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales tools for managing activities and data.
  • Minimum educational qualification: GCSE level with Mathematics and English passed.
