In the role of Business Continuity Officer, you will lead efforts to coordinate operational responses during major business interruptions, ensuring that the organisation is prepared to handle incidents that impact continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and validate business continuity and organisational resilience procedures aligned with enterprise needs and recovery objectives.
  • Take charge of incident coordination during business disruptions to maintain essential service functions.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine business continuity management plans, governance structures, and frameworks.
  • Promote readiness and preparedness initiatives across the organisation.
  • Design and implement training programs, exercises, and awareness activities related to business continuity.
  • Engage and collaborate with Whole-of-Federal-Government partners on matters related to continuity and resilience.
  • Lead teams and coordinate efforts during emergencies, security incidents, or other continuity events, including supporting after-hours responses as necessary.

Working Conditions and Expectations

This role operates in a fast-paced and often high-pressure setting, requiring availability outside normal working hours, including nights and weekends, as part of a 24/7 rostered Restriction Duty. Business Continuity Officers must be willing to work from alternative locations and utilize ATO-provided mobile devices when responding to incidents.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to other ATO locations such as Penrith and potentially beyond.

Reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process are available upon request.
