Business Continuity Officer

Role Overview

The Business Continuity Officer will support the development and enforcement of a robust business continuity framework within the energy sector, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and best practices. This role involves assisting leadership in offering expert advice to licensed entities to guarantee that the sector's business continuity documentation and strategies are comprehensive and up-to-date.

Core Responsibilities

• Help implement NCEMA standards related to business recovery, crisis and emergency management, contingency planning, and disaster preparedness for licensed energy organizations.
• Contribute to building and maintaining governance frameworks and tools that support effective business continuity management for sector entities.
• Assist in identifying continuity risks and ensure proper management across the energy sector.
• Support the establishment of processes that keep the business continuity management program aligned with industry practices and regulatory requirements.
• Verify and review licensed entities' business continuity documents to ensure compliance with the established framework.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and energy sector entities on all continuity-related matters.
• Monitor and report on entities' compliance, readiness, exercise outcomes, and flag areas of non-compliance.
• Collaborate with the data management team to create and sustain a sector-specific business continuity database.
• Promote awareness and understanding of NCEMA-mandated business continuity policies and standards within the sector.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in fields such as Engineering, Business Administration, or Business Continuity.
• Experience ranging from none up to two years in a relevant area.
