Business Analyst

Role Overview

The Business Analyst plays a vital role in bridging business requirements and IT delivery by converting business needs into clear, actionable functional and non-functional specifications. Collaborating closely with IT partners and delivery teams, the analyst engages early with business stakeholders to gather detailed requirements for prioritized projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT Business Partners and delivery teams to capture and shape demand from business units.
• Conduct workshops and discovery sessions to understand requirements and business context.
• Translate business needs into user stories, use cases, and detailed requirement documents.
• Document overarching business needs and pain points to support demand prioritization.
• Work alongside delivery teams to specify detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
• Support solution validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and business readiness efforts.
• Assist Business Architect in mapping current ('as-is') business processes.
• Maintain traceability between business needs, requirements, and implemented solutions.
• Contribute to enhancing business analysis methodologies and documentation templates.
• Communicate complex requirements clearly and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, Business, or related fields.
• Business Analysis certifications are advantageous.
• Prior experience in business analysis, requirement gathering, or equivalent roles within IT or complex environments.
• Proficiency in converting business needs into structured functional and non-functional requirements.
• Knowledge of process mapping and modeling techniques.
• Curious disposition coupled with strong active listening skills.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail.
• Collaborative approach and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Versatile and comfortable navigating between strategic discovery and detailed delivery phases.
