Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated full-time Bus Drivers to join our Willoughby depot team. Candidates must possess a Medium Rigid (MR) driver’s license or higher. This role involves operating buses safely while providing excellent customer service to our community.
Compensation and Shift Details
- Permanent weekday rate: $35.05 per hour plus shift loadings based on operating times
- Weekend rates: $52.58 per hour on Saturdays, $70.01 on Sundays
- Public holiday rate: $87.64 per hour
Drivers are required to work varied shifts including split shifts covering morning and afternoon peak hours, generally from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. There are also straight shifts starting at different times of day. Sunday and public holiday shifts are voluntary and considered overtime.

Work Hours
Shifts can include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and split shifts. Drivers may leave the depot between shifts or use depot facilities. Operations run seven days a week.
Eligibility Criteria
- Current valid Medium Rigid or higher driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to pass a pre-employment medical, criminal background and working with children checks
- Possession or willingness to obtain a NSW Driver Authority (preferred)
Candidates lacking the required license or Driver Authority may receive paid inductions, mentoring, and assistance to complete a Driver Authority course through Busways.
