Role Overview

The Building Management System (BMS) Operator is instrumental in overseeing the seamless operation and monitoring of the BMS. This role supports building services' performance, handles alarms and system faults, aids maintenance efforts, tracks energy consumption, keeps detailed records, and works closely with facility management teams to ensure the building systems run safely and efficiently in compliance with regulatory and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously operate and monitor the BMS along with associated building services.
• Promptly respond to, escalate, and resolve system alarms and malfunctions.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance via diligent system observation and troubleshooting.
• Monitor energy usage and identify opportunities for enhancing system efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation, operational records, and reporting.
• Collaborate with facility management teams, helpdesk, vendors, and service providers to sustain building operations.
• Assist with BMS upgrades, system integrations, and verifying communication between device components.
• Abide by health, safety, and operational standards, supporting audits and inspections when required.
• Manage control room activities effectively, maintain equipment housekeeping, and implement system security protocols.
• Provide support during emergency responses and undertake other BMS or facility-related duties as assigned by management.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma or ITI qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• Between 2 and 5 years of experience as a BMS Operator in facility management.
• Familiarity with BMS platforms such as Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, and Johnson Controls.
• Sound knowledge of HVAC systems and facility management operations.
• Basic proficiency in computer applications and report generation.
