Job description
Role Overview
As a Bowling Technician, you will ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of bowling alleys, handling technical equipment vital to the customers' experience. Your duties include upkeep, diagnostics, repairs, and offering prompt support related to the bowling facility's mechanical and electronic systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative upkeep on bowling equipment, such as pinsetters, ball return mechanisms, scoring systems, and lane surfaces, involving cleaning, lubrication, and component replacement as required.
- Quickly identify and troubleshoot technical malfunctions affecting electrical, mechanical, or software components of bowling equipment and scoring devices, performing necessary repairs.
- Repair or replace faulty parts including electrical circuits, sensors, motors, and mechanical components; liaise with suppliers to procure necessary replacements.
- Manage lane settings and adjustments to maintain consistent playing conditions by configuring lane patterns and oiling to suit various bowler skill levels.
- Observe all safety standards and protocols during maintenance and repair activities to protect staff and patrons.
- Provide prompt technical assistance to customers encountering equipment issues, ensuring a positive user experience.
- Maintain detailed logs of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections to monitor equipment condition and schedule future servicing.
- Collaborate within the maintenance team to facilitate smooth bowling center operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related technical fields is preferred.
- Prior experience in bowling equipment maintenance is highly advantageous.
- Experience in mechanical or electrical upkeep, especially in entertainment, cinema, bowling, or leisure settings.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
- Basic computer proficiency relevant to bowling scoring and control systems.
- Capacity for independent work and effective team collaboration.
- Availability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Typically requires 3 to 5 years of practical experience in relevant roles.
