About the Role
We are seeking a skilled payroll bookkeeper to join a sizeable, collaborative payroll team located in Melbourne's CBD. This permanent, full-time position offers a hybrid work model with two days working from home and involves managing payroll operations for a diverse and multi-site workforce, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a large, multi-location employee base.
- Handle employee onboarding, terminations, and all payroll-related updates.
- Interpret and apply modern awards and enterprise agreements for various employee groups.
- Perform payroll adjustments, leave entitlement processing, and account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or queries.
- Maintain accurate payroll and employee records to ensure compliance.
- Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and fulfill statutory obligations.
- Contribute to payroll system improvements and process optimization projects.
- Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Operations departments.
Candidate Profile
- At least three years of comprehensive payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
- Experience working within multi-site organisations is highly desirable.
- Solid knowledge and practical expertise in interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Proficiency in handling complex payroll software and managing large payroll environments.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- A proactive team player with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range from $80,000 to $85,000 per annum plus superannuation and bonus opportunities.
