Position Overview

Are you a meticulous bookkeeper eager to advance your career in accounting? At Calc Business Advisors & Chartered Accountants in Whakatāne, you will have the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients, overseeing everything from bookkeeping to finalising annual accounts, all while receiving strong mentorship and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your assigned group of clients as their primary contact.
• Prepare and submit GST returns accurately and promptly.
• Complete annual accounts post client approval to ensure all invoicing and filings are correctly handled.
• Conduct Companies Office tasks such as filing annual returns, updating shareholder and director information, and maintaining company records.
• Handle trust administration duties including gifting, minute-taking, and record maintenance.
• Maintain order and accuracy in client ledgers within Xero accounting software.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum three years of practical bookkeeping experience, particularly with GST compliance.
• Proficient user of Xero accounting software.
• Demonstrates curiosity about broader accounting processes; currently engaged in studies or plans to commence accounting qualifications is advantageous.
• Highly detail-oriented with the confidence to question discrepancies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain client relationships effectively.
