Biologist (Remote)

Role Overview

We are recruiting a Biology expert holding a PhD or Master’s degree to work full-time remotely. The position involves formulating and solving complex biological problems aimed at examining the weaknesses of large language models (LLMs). You will work closely with LLM researchers to align problem types with evaluation objectives, particularly focusing on areas where AI models face challenges, and contribute to the creation of new benchmarks spanning biology curricula from early undergraduate through PhD levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Devise and solve intricate biology problems to test the limitations of LLMs.
• Produce detailed, stepwise problem solutions with rigorous and transparent reasoning.
• Liaise with researchers to ensure problem sets match evaluation goals, especially for difficult model areas.
• Create new biology evaluation benchmarks reflecting academic progression across undergraduate to doctoral topics.
• Simplify complex biological ideas into concise and clear explanations while maintaining work efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Possess a Master’s or PhD degree in Biology or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrate strong analytical capability and research proficiency in biology.
• Provide thoughtful feedback and detailed annotations for problem sets.
• Exhibit innovative and lateral thinking to tackle challenging biological questions.
