BIM Technician

Role Overview

As a BIM Technician at Walls, you will play a crucial role in facilitating Building Information Modelling processes across all stages of project development, from initial tendering through to final delivery and handover. You will collaborate closely with BIM Coordinators, design teams, and various project stakeholders to produce, manage, and coordinate high-quality digital models and project data, ensuring efficient construction workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, update, and coordinate BIM models following project protocols, standards, and industry best practices.
• Implement BIM workflows consistent with ISO 19650 Parts 1 and 2 standards.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications and Project Exchange Information Requirements throughout project phases.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, model outputs, and digital deliverables aligned with key project milestones.
• Conduct model audits, verify data accuracy, and review model integrity to guarantee quality and consistency.
• Facilitate the integration of multi-disciplinary models and support clash detection using Navisworks and other BIM tools.
• Identify and communicate any modelling issues, clashes, or data requirements promptly to project teams for resolution.
• Manage project information within the Common Data Environment following established protocols.
• Assist in drafting and updating BIM Execution Plans, Model Production Delivery Tables, Task Information Delivery Plans, and Master Information Delivery Plans.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and workshops involving internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the Digital Project Delivery team with internal audits, standard implementation, and adoption of new BIM technologies.
• Generate 2D and 3D deliverables, including drawings, schedules, visualisations, and asset data as requested.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Minimum two years’ experience as a BIM Technician, CAD Technician, or an equivalent role in digital construction.
• Sound knowledge of BIM standards and processes, particularly ISO 19650.
• Educational background including a degree, diploma, or relevant certification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, BIM, or similar fields.
• Proficiency in Revit software, with familiarity in Navisworks; experience with other BIM platforms is a plus.
• Hands-on experience using Common Data Environments.
• Exceptional attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all outputs.
• Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work productively within multidisciplinary teams.
• A strong desire for ongoing professional growth and keeping current with BIM technologies and trends.
