Job description

Job Overview

The BIM Modeler for Vertical Transportation at TK Elevator is responsible for creating, updating, and managing Building Information Modeling (BIM) models specifically for passenger elevators and escalators throughout all phases of a project, spanning from initial design to construction completion and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit aligned with project BIM standards, BIM Execution Plan (BEP), and Employer Information Requirements (EIR).
  • Update models continuously to meet the required Level of Development (LOD) at each project stage incorporating design changes and installation details.
  • Produce accurate shop drawings derived directly from BIM models including plans, sections, elevations, and interface details relevant to lifts and escalators.
  • Regularly revise drawings based on engineering feedback, coordination outputs, and site requirements to ensure alignment with approved designs.
  • Participate actively in BIM coordination meetings and technical workshops to align vertical transportation models with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
  • Conduct clash detection and resolve conflicts using Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, and similar tools, maintaining detailed clash reports.
  • Manage all elevator and escalator interface details such as shaft dimensions, machine room layouts, electrical supply, fire alarm and emergency systems, access control, and structural integration.
  • Ensure BIM deliverables comply with ISO 19650, maintain documentation standards, revision control, and manage model submissions through common data environments.
  • Extract quantities and technical data from models, support COBie data preparation, and verify asset information accuracy.
  • Perform rigorous quality assurance and quality control checks on all BIM models and shop drawings prior to submissions, ensuring consistency and compliance with project documentation standards.
  • Prepare and submit required deliverables including Revit BIM models, Navisworks coordination files, shop drawings, clash reports, coordination reports, and asset information models.
  • Provide comprehensive support to engineering, design, factory, and installation teams with BIM data and coordination guidance.

Technical Requirements

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for BIM modeling and family creation.
  • Experience using Autodesk Navisworks Manage for clash detection and multidisciplinary model coordination.
  • Competence with AutoCAD for 2D drafting and drawing verification.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM Collaborate Pro for model sharing and issue tracking.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite for preparing technical reports and documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience in BIM modeling for vertical transportation systems, specifically elevators and escalators.
  • Strong understanding of installation requirements and building interface coordination for lifts and escalators.
  • Experience with BIM workflows, including clash detection, model coordination, and shop drawing generation.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19650, BIM Execution Plans, Employer Information Requirements, and Level of Development (LOD) standards.
  • Familiarity with ACC/BIM 360 platforms and COBie data requirements is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, equipment layouts, and engineering documents accurately.

Skills and Competencies

  • Thorough technical expertise in BIM modeling for vertical transportation projects.
  • Understanding of architecture, structure, and MEP coordination necessities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to model precision and data integrity.
  • Problem-solving capability with a focus on effective clash resolution.
  • Strong communication skills facilitating coordination among multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to manage multiple deliverables and adhere to project deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within diverse project teams.
