BIM Manager / BIM Coordinator

Position Overview

Converra Consulting and Services LLC is seeking a seasoned BIM Manager / Coordinator to oversee BIM project delivery in Qatar on a contractual basis. The successful candidate will lead model coordination efforts and ensure adherence to client BIM standards, collaborating closely with design teams, supervision consultants, and the client's BIM department.

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce client BIM standards, Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR), and CAD/BIM deliverable criteria across all phases of projects.
• Develop and maintain the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP), and Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDPs).
• Ensure adherence to naming conventions, Levels of Development/Information, classification systems, and file format specifications for submissions.
• Conduct BIM quality assurance checks prior to each submission and manage review comment resolutions.
• Administer the Common Data Environment (CDE) including user access, workflows, and version control.
• Aggregate multi-disciplinary BIM models and lead clash detection and conflict resolution efforts.
• Lead weekly BIM coordination meetings; generate clash analysis reports and meeting minutes.
• Serve as the primary BIM liaison for clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Evaluate consultants’ BIM deliverables and coordinate design modifications and Requests for Information (RFIs) through the model.
• Facilitate 4D/5D BIM applications and oversee as-built model preparation for project handover.
• Manage and mentor BIM modelling staff, while compiling monthly BIM progress reports and key performance indicators.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Between 6 to 8 years of BIM experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a BIM coordination or management role.
• Demonstrated expertise working on Ashghal (Public Works Authority) projects involving buildings, roads, drainage, or infrastructure.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Ashghal BIM standards and their submission and approval procedures.
• Established experience collaborating effectively with design and supervision consultancy teams.
• Practical skills in preparing BIM Execution Plans and conducting clash detection sessions.

Software Proficiency

• Revit (Architecture, Structural, MEP disciplines) and Civil 3D.
• Navisworks Manage and either Solibri or Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM Collaborate Pro.
• Expertise in at least one Common Data Environment platform such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Aconex, or ProjectWise.
• AutoCAD knowledge, applying Ashghal CAD standards for drafting.

Preferred Additional Skills and Conditions

• Certification or training in ISO 19650 standards for BIM management.
• Experience working with other Qatar government clients like Qatar Rail, Kahramaa, or the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).
• Capability in Dynamo scripting or linking 4D BIM with Primavera P6.
• Currently residing in Qatar with a transferable visa and possession of a valid Qatar driving license.
