Job description

About Us

Mitti by SafetyCulture is a global technology company with nearly 1,000 employees focused on creating tools that enhance the work experiences of the three billion frontline workers worldwide. We offer the scale of a major tech firm without heavy bureaucracy, empowering every full-time employee with equity to share in our growth. Our current focus is on intelligent scaling through AI, a clear mission, and genuine ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end configuration and administration of Zuora Billing including product catalogs, rate plans, charge setups, subscription management, invoicing, workflows, and payment processing to ensure consistent precision and reliability.
  • Serve as the main internal authority on Zuora Billing and CPQ by promptly troubleshooting issues, diagnosing root causes, and implementing durable solutions independently.
  • Continuously identify and lead optimization initiatives in the order-to-invoice workflow to enhance billing accuracy, minimize manual tasks, and accommodate business expansion.
  • Convert requirements from Finance, Revenue Operations, and Sales into configuration and architecture within Zuora, bridging business objectives and technical deployment.
  • Oversee and maintain integrations between Zuora and connected systems such as Salesforce CRM, payment gateways, and ERP/financial tools, collaborating with Engineering to guarantee data consistency and system dependability.
  • Coordinate with Revenue Operations to synchronize Zuora CPQ configurations with Billing, ensuring alignment between sales quotations and invoicing processes.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Revenue Operations teams to refine Zuora CPQ workflows aimed at reducing quoting inefficiencies and accelerating the sales cycle.
  • Partner with personnel responsible for Revenue Recognition and ARR reporting to provide accurate billing data for validation and discrepancy resolution.
  • Develop and sustain detailed technical documentation on system setups, integrations, workflows, and billing procedures to maintain transparency, audit readiness, and knowledge transfer.

Scope Clarifications

  • This role does not manage Salesforce CRM platforms or the sales quoting experience within Salesforce, which are handled by Revenue Operations.
  • The role excludes management of cash lifecycle activities such as collections, cash application, or payment reconciliation beyond invoicing.

Technical Competencies

  • Advanced hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Zuora Billing components, including product catalogs, pricing models, subscription lifecycle, invoice settlement, workflows, data loader, queries, and payment gateway administration.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Zuora CPQ, focusing on pricing strategies, quoting workflows, and managing subscription amendments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SaaS subscription order-to-invoice processes.
  • Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Zuora integrations with Salesforce CRM and ERP or financial systems.
  • Ability to translate business needs into operational system configurations and scalable technical designs.
  • Strong capabilities in data interrogation and validation across integrated platforms to troubleshoot billing discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Possession of Zuora Billing certification is a highly valuable asset.

Behavioral Attributes

  • Confident in owning the Zuora Billing and CPQ domains, taking initiative and decisive actions without waiting for direction.
  • Effective communicator capable of bridging technical and business conversations across cross-functional teams including Finance, RevOps, Sales, and Engineering.
  • Problem-solver who proactively presents practical options and solutions rather than just identifying issues.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and capable of integrating into a recently implemented system to drive enhancements independently.
  • Maintains strict attention to accuracy and data integrity due to the critical impact billing errors have financially and for customers.
  • Driven to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements proactively.
  • Thrives in collaborative environments and manages high-pressure situations well.

AI Proficiency

  • Leverages AI solutions such as Claude or Microsoft Copilot to expedite documentation writing, root cause investigations, functional specification drafting, and researching Zuora features.
  • Evaluates AI-generated proposals for billing configuration adjustments, verifying their compatibility with business rules and system limits.
  • Uses AI tools and native Zuora AI capabilities to continuously research and remain updated on platform advancements and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrates innovative application of AI models and protocols to transform billing workflows and processes.

Success Indicators

  • Achieve stable and thoroughly documented Zuora Billing and CPQ configurations within the first three months to ensure confident reliance by Finance and RevOps.
  • Establish and actively maintain a dynamic backlog of billing system improvements, delivering at least two impactful enhancements within six weeks that reduce manual work or increase billing precision.
  • Develop efficient, transparent procedures for Finance, RevOps, and Sales teams to report and resolve billing issues, markedly improving response times post go-live.
  • Ensure reliable integrations between Zuora, Salesforce CRM, and financial systems with proactive data quality monitoring to prevent order-to-invoice inaccuracies.
  • Showcase at least one concrete Zuora enhancement that reduces sales quoting hurdles or accelerates deal closure within the first month.

  • Direct manager: GTM Systems Manager
  • Revenue Recognition and Revenue Accounting teams
  • Revenue Operations team
