Billing Specialist

About the Role

PrepayPower, a leading Pay-As-You-Go energy provider in Ireland, is looking for a Billing Specialist within their Revenue Assurance team. This full-time position is based in their modern offices in Sandyford, Dublin, and involves hybrid work arrangements. The primary purpose of this role is to guarantee accurate, timely, and complete billing of customer accounts while supporting the growing Revenue Protection team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all billing procedures are completed with precision and within scheduled timelines.
• Calculate and prepare customer invoices accurately.
• Configure and oversee tariff settings within the billing systems.
• Manage communications related to billing processes effectively.
• Investigate and resolve complex billing queries from customers and internal departments.
• Perform analysis and reconciliations to validate the accuracy of billing processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to identify and resolve billing discrepancies and prevent future issues.
• Design and implement new reporting tools to monitor billing process performance.
• Calculate and handle customer refunds appropriately.
• Work with IT and Development teams to enhance billing workflows and automate processes where possible.
• Provide regular billing activity updates to senior team members, including weekly and monthly reports.
• Acquire expert knowledge of Gas, Electricity, Broadband, and Oil products to detect revenue stream gaps.
• Perform additional ad hoc duties as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree (Level 8) or at least one year of relevant experience in a similar billing role.
• Strong capability to meet strict individual and team targets.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP; skilled in MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated and well-organized with the ability to work independently.
• Adaptable to fast-paced environments and adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is advantageous.
• Previous experience in the utilities sector, especially with energy suppliers, is highly preferred.
