BESS Solution Engineer / Solution Manager

This position is based in Saudi Arabia, with opportunities across UAE, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Egypt.

Position Overview

The role focuses on creating competitive technical solutions for large-scale and commercial energy storage projects internationally, overseeing every stage from design through customer support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design bespoke Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions tailored to client needs, environmental parameters, grid criteria, and project goals.
• Develop the overall system architecture and assist in selecting and integrating principal components such as batteries, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
• Lead technical engagements with clients and provide expertise during proposal formation and commercial negotiation phases.
• Assess the viability of projects, ensuring all proposals comply with relevant grid codes, industry standards, and regional regulations.
• Analyze client specifications to pinpoint crucial technical requirements, highlight potential risks, and identify any deviations.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Research & Development, and Delivery departments to deliver technically sound and commercially viable solutions.
• Monitor global energy storage markets, regulatory frameworks, grid demands, and emerging technology trends to align product development and business strategies.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems, or similar disciplines.
• Minimum of three years' experience in the energy storage sector, including at least two years focused on international utility-scale BESS projects.
• In-depth understanding of BESS configuration, battery technologies, PCS, BMS, EMS, and battery charge/discharge dynamics.
• Knowledgeable about international grid codes, grid interconnection standards, and energy storage regulations worldwide.
• Practical experience in designing solutions, drafting technical proposals, or executing projects.
• Proficient in English for both technical discussions and business communications; additional regional languages are advantageous.
• Strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate across multiple functions.
• Willing to travel and/or reside within the target regions.
