Role Overview

The Benefit Calculation Officer role involves delivering professional customer service by accurately and promptly processing wage calculations, reviews, and back-payments for Employers and Injured Workers.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with both internal teams and external parties to gather necessary information for precise calculation of weekly payments.
• Perform calculations and updates of average weekly earnings and back-payments efficiently to meet departmental key performance indicators.
• Manage and respond to communications received via shared email inboxes.
• Maintain and update reports and tracking systems daily to reduce delays.
• Calculate wages or conduct reviews based on average weekly earnings or federal minimum wages as required.
• Carry out peer audits on calculations to detect and correct errors.
• Complete economic adjustment reviews in compliance with legal requirements for claims older than 12 months.
• Compile data and calculate arrears regarding weekly payments or back payments.
• Support Dispute Resolution Officers by preparing for conciliations to ensure the sustainability of initial decisions.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in administrative roles.
• Proven accuracy in data entry tasks.
• Competency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with claims management processes.
• Background in payroll or accounts payable/receivable functions.
