We are expanding our team in Newcastle, Hunter, Lake Macquarie, Gosford, and the mid-north coast regions. Qualifications & Experience Required
- Current registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (applications without this will not be considered)
- At least six months of experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
- Tertiary qualifications in allied health or related fields such as Psychology, Behavioural Science, Social Work, or Education, or equivalent relevant experience
- Proven experience conducting functional assessments and developing Behaviour Support Plans; de-identified samples might be requested during interviews
- Familiarity with Restrictive Practices, including in-depth knowledge of NDIS guidelines on this subject
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, and psychosocial disabilities
- Effective self-management skills to meet deadlines and manage scheduling
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with participants, their families, and other stakeholders to aid in achieving participant goals
- Engage directly with participants and carers to create participant-centred Behaviour Support Plans
- Conduct detailed functional assessments
- Provide training and ongoing support to those implementing Behaviour Support Plans
- Monitor, identify, and report on Restrictive Practices while facilitating data collection related to these practices
- Ensure compliance with all requirements from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
- Participate in regular clinical supervision, including group sessions with other Behaviour Support Practitioners
