Job description

About Outcomes Connect Australia

At Outcomes Connect Australia (OCA), we deeply believe that individuals perform best in environments where connection, support, and inspiration are present. Since 2018, our organisation has been dedicated to empowering Behaviour Support Practitioners by fostering confidence, advancing clinical expertise, and promoting best practices. Combining local service delivery with national systems, we ensure clinical excellence, consistency, and safety within a robust governance model.

If you seek a workplace that values your insights, prioritises your professional growth, and genuinely cares about your wellbeing, OCA welcomes you to join us.

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners endorsed at the Core, Proficient, or Advanced level. In this role, you will meaningfully impact the lives of individuals living with disabilities by supporting them and their support networks. Your focus will be on enhancing life quality, reducing challenging behaviours, and upholding the rights of disabled people.

Working collaboratively with a team of practitioners, leaders, and clinical advisors, you will apply evidence-informed practices while continuously developing your professional knowledge and skills. This position is based in Adelaide with opportunities for remote and community-based work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients (NDIS participants), their families, and carers to identify needs through comprehensive assessments and person-centred planning.
  • Define meaningful goals and practical strategies leveraging The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework, committed to eradicating restrictive practices both at home and in community settings.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate evidence-based support plans tailored to complex support needs.
  • Ensure all individual plans reflect each client's unique goals, interests, and strengths.
  • Build capacity and empower families, carers, and others who support clients.

Support and Professional Growth

  • Receive weekly one-on-one clinical supervision from experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners and join group supervision sessions early on.
  • Benefit from guidance by a strong clinical leadership team to aid your professional journey.
  • Participate in national onboarding and best practice learning programs focused on positive behaviour support (PBS).
  • Engage in fortnightly educational sessions led by Advanced and Specialist practitioners, alongside access to a comprehensive resource library exceeding 100 materials.

Career Progression

  • Design a bespoke Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plan and Supervision Agreement to progress from Core or Proficient to Advanced practitioner status.
  • Access support for specialization, leadership, case management, or any focus areas within your role.
  • Opportunity to pursue internal leadership roles, short-term secondments, or adjunct positions available within the organisation.

Work Culture and Benefits

  • Join a values-driven team that celebrates achievements and offers support during challenges.
  • Work in a culture that welcomes contributions from all members, from new hires to senior staff.
  • Enjoy flexible scheduling and a sustainable caseload respecting your time and energy.
  • Benefit from time allocated for rest and life outside of work.
  • Receive competitive salary packages including superannuation and performance rewards.
  • Access a $600 annual health and wellbeing subsidy plus salary packaging options.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Current endorsement by the NDIS Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Core, Proficient, or Advanced level is essential.
  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner for a registered positive behaviour support provider.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing abilities.
  • Proficient computer literacy and impeccable writing skills.
  • Possession of a current driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Preferably hold degree-level qualifications relevant to supporting individuals with behaviours of concern.
