Job Overview
The Beach Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for managing daily cleaning operations along designated beach areas to uphold exceptional cleanliness, safety, and environmental standards. This role involves leadership of cleaning teams, managing resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a pleasant environment for beach visitors.
Key Duties
- Oversee daily cleaning processes covering beaches, shoreline zones, promenades, pathways, and public facilities to maintain hygiene and safety.
- Coordinate both manual and mechanized beach cleaning activities and ensure proper disposal of waste such as litter, debris, and seaweed.
- Conduct frequent inspections to meet service quality standards and contractual performance indicators.
- Allocate personnel, tools, and supplies strategically to meet operational goals.
- Lead and inspire cleaning operatives and team leaders, managing work schedules, task distribution, and shift planning.
- Track team productivity and maintain attendance and leave documentation.
- Deliver on-site training covering cleaning protocols, safety measures, and environmental best practices.
- Guarantee adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and reporting hazards promptly.
- Encourage sustainable waste practices and environmental preservation efforts.
- Carry out quality inspections and audits, address client feedback, and maintain comprehensive records of operations and incidents.
- Prepare periodic performance reports and suggest enhancements to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Coordinate with municipal bodies, beach authorities, and facility management teams and support special events and emergency cleanups.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Environmental Science, Operations Management, or a related area.
- Preferred certification in Occupational Health & Safety.
- At least 4 to 6 years of experience in cleaning operations, environmental or waste management, or facility management with a minimum of 2 years supervising large teams.
- Prior experience in beach cleaning, public area upkeep, landscaping, or municipal services is highly advantageous.
